Short answer: the Cannondale Quick and the Merida Crossway sit at almost identical prices but are built for different riders. Cannondale gives you three sizes and depth in the middle of the range, so if you are between about 160cm and 185cm your size is the easiest one to get. Merida gives you six sizes and covers the extremes, from XXS at ₹30,990 up to ₹78,990, but usually one or two bikes per size. Decide on the fork first, then pick on sizing rather than badge.

The numbering trap
Before anything else, the model numbers. They run in opposite directions and this catches out almost everyone comparing the two ranges on a spreadsheet.
Cannondale counts down. A Quick 5 is the cheapest at ₹48,999 and a Quick 3 is dearer at ₹69,450. Lower number, better bike.
Merida counts up. A Crossway 20 is ₹44,990 and a Crossway 300 is ₹78,990. Higher number, better bike.
So a Quick 3 and a Crossway 300 are roughly equivalent, and a Quick 5 sits near a Crossway 20 or 40. If you have been mentally pairing the 3 with the 20 because the numbers look closer, you have been comparing a ₹69,450 bike against a ₹44,990 one.

The pattern is clear enough: Merida fills in more rungs, Cannondale puts more bikes on fewer rungs. That difference matters more than any specification on this page, and we come back to it below.
Around ₹45,000 to ₹50,000
Cannondale Quick 5, ₹48,999. Rigid fork, flat-bar road geometry, the lightest thing at this price. Three available, all Matte Black in SM. That is the catch: if you are not a small, this bike does not currently exist for you.
Merida Crossway 40, ₹49,990 against an MRP of ₹58,990. Four available, Black Silver in 43cm only. A suspension fork and wider tyres, so a slower but more forgiving bike than the Quick 5.
Merida Crossway 20, ₹44,990 from ₹52,990. Three in Silk Fall Green, 43cm. The cheapest suspension hybrid of the group other than the Lady model.
At this tier you are choosing between a rigid fast bike in one size and a suspended comfortable bike in one size. Realistically your height decides it for you, not your preference. Both ranges are thin here.
₹56,000 to ₹64,000, where most people buy
Cannondale Quick CX 3, ₹57,999. This is the most widely available bicycle on the page by a distance: 25 units, in Rally Red and Tungsten Blue, across SM, MD and LG. Suspension fork, wider tyres, built for a mix of tarmac and the rougher stuff. Whatever your height and whichever colour you prefer, this is the one bike here we can almost certainly get you.
Merida Crossway 100 2026, ₹63,990 from ₹69,990. Four available, two in High Cream and two in Silk Warm Slate Grey, both XS. A better finished bike than the CX 3 on paper and ₹6,000 more, but only in the small size.
There is also a single Crossway 100 at ₹55,990 in Teal-Blue, 43cm, the last of the previous run.
This tier is where the two ranges really separate. The CX 3 wins on availability by a distance. The Crossway 100 wins on specification if you happen to be XS.
₹69,000 to ₹79,000
Cannondale Quick 3, ₹69,450. Six available in Mercury, one SM and five MD. Rigid fork, lighter and quicker than the CX 3, and the Quick to buy if your roads are paved. Worth noting the colour is a single option and the large is not currently available.
Merida Crossway 300 2026, ₹78,990. Six in Matt Early Moss Grey, in XXS, XS and S. The top of the Crossway range, and the only bike in this comparison available in XXS.
The Crossway 300 III2 2025 at ₹74,990 from ₹79,990 is the previous model year, three left in Glossy Black, XS and S. Same bike broadly, ₹4,000 less.
Where the Speeder fits
The Speeder is not really a rival to either of the above. It is a flat-bar road bike: narrower tyres, rigid fork, road geometry, built to go fast rather than to soak up broken surfaces. Its natural comparison is the Cannondale Quick 3, not the Crossway.
Being straight about availability, because it changes the advice: we can source four Speeders in total and they are all XXS or XS. The Speeder 100 at ₹77,990 has one XXS and two XS in Silk Gunmetal Grey. The Speeder 300 at ₹99,990 has a single XS in Silk Dove Blue. The 200 and the 500 are both out of stock.
So the Speeder is a genuinely good answer for a shorter rider who wants speed on tarmac, and no answer at all for anyone else right now. If you are over about 166cm and drawn to a flat-bar road bike, the Quick 3 is the one to look at.
Three sizes against six
Cannondale runs SM, MD and LG. Merida runs XXS through to XL, and on some models centimetre sizes from 43 to 59. That is not a detail, it is the whole character of the two ranges.

Cannondale concentrates: fewer sizes, far more of each. Merida spreads: more models, more sizes, one or two of each. The practical effect is that a rider of average height has a much easier time getting a Cannondale, while a rider at either extreme of height is far more likely to find a Merida that fits at all.

Which one to buy
- You are between 160cm and 185cm and want the widest choice: Quick CX 3. Nothing else here offers you a choice of both size and colour.
- Your roads are paved and you want to go quickly: Quick 3, or the Speeder 100 if you are small.
- You are under about 160cm: Crossway 300 2026 in XXS, or the Crossway 10 V Lady at ₹30,990 if the budget is tight.
- You want the most bike for the money: Crossway 40 at ₹49,990 against an MRP of ₹58,990, if 43cm is your size.
- Your route includes genuinely broken road or unpaved sections: either suspension model, CX 3 or a Crossway, and fit the widest tyre that will clear.

FAQs
What does the CX in Quick CX 3 mean, and is it a mountain bike?
CX stands for cross, meaning cross terrain rather than cyclocross racing. It is still a hybrid, on 700c wheels with a flat bar, but it adds a suspension fork and wider tyres than the plain Quick models so it copes with unpaved paths and broken edges. It is not a mountain bike and should not be ridden as one, because the fork travel is short and the geometry is upright rather than slack. Think of it as the Quick with its rough-road setting switched on.
Why is the Crossway 10 V Lady so much cheaper than the rest?
It is the oldest model in the range and a women's specific frame, with a lower standover height and a shorter reach. At Rs 30,990 against an MRP of Rs 39,990 it is the cheapest complete hybrid in this comparison by a wide margin. The trade is an older specification, V-brakes rather than discs, and only XS available. For a short, mostly flat commute on decent roads it is a lot of bicycle for the money, and it is a poor choice if you ride in monsoon traffic where disc brakes earn their keep.
Can I buy a Crossway as a frameset rather than a complete bike?
Yes, for two of them, which is unusual at this end of the market. The Crossway 100 2022 frameset is Rs 19,990 with three available in size S, and the Crossway 10V 2022 frameset is Rs 14,990 with one in ML. That only makes sense if you already have a parts bin or you are rebuilding a bike you know, because by the time you buy wheels, drivetrain and brakes you will usually have spent more than a complete bike costs. Where it does work is replacing a crashed frame on a Crossway you already own.
Are replacement wheels available for these bikes?
For the Merida side, yes and they are well stocked. Speeder 200, 300 and 400 wheelsets are sold individually, front wheels from Rs 5,990 and rears from Rs 9,990, and there is a Crossway 20 front wheel at Rs 3,590. That is worth knowing because a bent rim on a commuter is common and a single replacement wheel is far cheaper than a new pair. Cannondale Quick wheels are not stocked as spares, so a damaged wheel there means either a rebuild around the existing hub or an aftermarket wheelset.
Cannondale has three sizes and Merida has six. Does that really matter if I am an average height?
Less than you might think, and it cuts the other way than people assume. Three sizes means each one covers a wider band of heights, so you are more likely to sit between two and need the fit adjusted at the stem and seatpost rather than landing squarely on a size. Six sizes means a closer match out of the box. In practice, if you are near the middle of a Cannondale size the bike will fit fine and a stem change sorts most of the rest, which is why the deeper availability usually wins.
