It is intended for Shimano HG-style splined road cassettes rather than XDR or Campagnolo systems, making it the correct choice when replacing a worn or damaged freehub while retaining the existing cassette standard. It suits both disc-brake and rim-brake versions of the Cognition V2 hub, so the key buying decision is the cassette interface rather than the wheel's braking system.
Restore the Drivetrain. A worn freehub can cause poor cassette support, rough engagement or unwanted movement at the rear wheel. Replacing it with the correct Zipp part restores the intended interface between cassette and hub without changing the complete rear hub assembly. Because this is a manufacturer-specified spare for the Cognition V2 platform, it is preferable to selecting a generic body that may not match the hub's internal architecture or end-cap arrangement.
Check the Interface. This version is for splined non-XDR cassettes. It should not be ordered for an XDR cassette or a Campagnolo freehub requirement, as Zipp lists separate freehub kits for those interfaces. Before purchasing, confirm that the rear hub is specifically a Cognition V2 NSW model and that the cassette uses the Shimano HG-style spline.
