Birzman Chain Keeper is a wheel-off drivetrain support tool for riders who want easier access when cleaning, storing or transporting a bicycle with the rear wheel removed. It fits into the right rear dropout and keeps the chain off the frame while maintaining a usable chain path. The key limitation is important: Birzman specifies this BM17 model for quick-release axles only, so it is not suitable for bikes using a rear thru-axle.
Keeps Things Moving. Once fitted, the keeper allows full forward and backward drivetrain rotation. That means the cranks and chain can still be turned while the rear wheel is off, which is useful when wiping the chain, cleaning around the drivetrain or applying lubricant. The quick-release lever also makes fitting and removal straightforward, avoiding the need to improvise a temporary chain support during maintenance.
Check the Dropout. Remove the rear wheel, open and loosen the keeper's quick release, position the chain onto its cog and place the axle into the right dropout. Tighten the adjustment and close the quick-release lever to secure it. Because Birzman states QR compatibility only, riders should confirm the bicycle uses a conventional quick-release rear axle before ordering. The tool is also suitable for keeping the chain controlled when the bike is stored or transported without its rear wheel.

We ship across India. Shipping is free on orders above ₹2,000 and ₹99 below that. Cash on delivery is available on orders up to ₹20,000, with a COD charge that depends on the order value. Returns can be started within 7 days of delivery on unused items in their original condition with all tags and packaging. Apparel, helmets, gloves and similar items are returnable; wetsuits and products discounted by more than 5% are not. Compatibility questions are not grounds for a return unless our listing was wrong, so ask us before you order if you are unsure. Return shipping is arranged by you; on an accepted return you can choose an exchange, store credit or a refund after shipping and transaction charges.
