Bibs or shorts

For rides over an hour, bibs win comfortably. The honest trade-off is the toilet stop, which needs your jersey off, and some riders find the straps warm in peak Indian summer. Both are legitimate reasons to keep a pair of shorts too.

The chamois is what you are paying for

Everything else being equal, the pad is the difference between a ₹3,600 bib and a ₹16,900 one. What matters is multi-density foam, firmer under the sit bones and softer elsewhere, shaped for your riding position. Thickness is not the measure: a well-shaped 10mm pad outperforms a shapeless 15mm one over four hours.
