The Effetto Mariposa Cog Brush-For Chain & Cogs is designed to remove mud, grease and dirt from chains, chainrings, cogs and cassette areas. Its dual-bristle layout handles both broad surfaces and narrow gaps.

Dense Side Bristles: The wider lateral section uses short, closely packed bristles for scrubbing the chain, chainrings and sprockets. It helps break down stubborn buildup during regular drivetrain maintenance.

Long Tip Bristles: Longer and firmer bristles at the tip reach between cassette sprockets where dirt often collects. This allows more precise cleaning of areas that are difficult to access with standard brushes.

Functional Curved Handle: The slim curved handle can slide between sprockets and features lower teeth for loosening compacted mud inside cassettes up to 10-speed. Its nylon construction is shockproof and resistant to solvents.

How to use

Apply a suitable drivetrain degreaser to the chain and sprockets.
Use the short side bristles on the chain, chainrings and outer sprocket surfaces.

On cassettes up to 10-speed, slide the toothed handle between the sprockets to remove packed mud.
Rinse and dry the drivetrain after cleaning.

How can I use Cog Brush?

We recommend using it together with Allpine Extra, the biodegradable degreaser suitable for deep cleaning of the chain. Apply the degreaser to the chain and sprockets and then use the Cog Brush to scrub away the mud and dirt.

And what about the thin and toothed handle?

The thin and toothed handle of the Cog Brush is designed to slip between the sprockets to remove dirt. However, it is suitable for transmissions up to a maximum of 10 speeds, as the spacing for 11, 12 and 13 speeds is too narrow. For transmissions with 11 speeds and above, the brush positioned on the tip of the Cog Brush, with thick and long bristles, performs the same task effectively.
