How To Use
  • Check Rim Tape: Start with a clean rim and inspect that the tubeless tape is strong, sealed and free from damage.
  • Mount First Bead: Fit one side of the tyre, aligning the tyre logo with the valve for easier puncture tracking.
  • Partially Mount Second Bead: Mount around 80% of the second bead, leaving enough space to pour in the sealant.
  • Pour Sealant: Add the recommended quantity directly into the tyre before closing the bead.
  • Recommended Quantity: Use 2 oz for road, 3–4 oz for gravel, 4–5 oz for MTB and 6–8 oz for fat bikes.
  • Rotate Wheel: Slowly rotate the wheel so sealant moves to the fully mounted side before final bead installation.
  • Finish Mounting: Push the remaining tyre bead onto the rim by hand and avoid tyre levers unless necessary.
  • Inflate Tyre: Seat the tyre using a floor pump, compressor, tubeless air canister, or CO2 only as a last option.
  • Avoid CO2 Residue: If CO2 is used, release it immediately after seating and reinflate with regular air.
  • Check Leaks: Inflate to riding pressure, rotate or shake the wheel and use soapy water if needed to find slow leaks.

Carbon Fiber Sealing For Tubeless Protection

Overview

Silca Ultimate Tubeless Sealant with Injectable Fiberfoam is built for riders who want stronger puncture sealing, better pressure retention and long-lasting tubeless performance. Its FiberFoam technology uses a foaming latex formula with chopped carbon fibres to seal punctures up to 7 mm without quickly losing pressure.

Carbon Fibre Sealing Power: The sealant contains reclaimed chopped carbon fibres in 6 mm, 9 mm and 12 mm lengths, sourced from recycled bicycles, carbon wheels, racecars and aircraft components. These lightweight fibres stay evenly suspended while riding, allowing the sealant to carry more reinforcing material directly to the puncture.

Fast Hole Reinforcement: When air and sealant rush toward a puncture, micro-bubbles collapse and deposit carbon fibres over the opening. This creates a strong fibre dam against the tyre casing, helping the sealant close larger holes more effectively than conventional additives like glitter, cornmeal, or fiberglass.

Longer Lasting Formula: After sealing, the puncture area is reinforced with carbon fibre-loaded latex that bridges the hole and helps reduce the chance of repeat punctures in the same spot. The formula also supports longer service life, lasting around 7 to 9 months depending on humidity and riding conditions.

Reliable in Tough Conditions: Its sealing strength allows a higher concentration of anti-freeze agents, helping it work better in colder conditions. Silca recommends adding replenisher every 90 to 120 days based on temperature and humidity, especially when using porous tyre casings that absorb more sealant during installation.

Important Setup Notes: For best performance, avoid CO2, compressor condensation and talc powder, as these can harden the sealant. Extra-light or porous casings may need additional sealant or replenisher and strong TPP rim tapes are recommended for a more reliable tubeless setup.
