How to use

Before Installation

Confirm that the bicycle frame uses the T47-86 threaded bottom bracket standard.
Identify the crankset and select the corresponding adapters and spacers supplied with the bottom bracket.
Remove the existing bottom bracket using the appropriate tool.
Clean and inspect the frame threads for dirt, damage or contamination.

Installation

Apply a suitable thread preparation compound according to the frame and bottom bracket manufacturer's instructions.
Position the appropriate adapters for the selected crankset.
Install the drive-side and non-drive-side bottom bracket cups according to Tripeak's specified thread directions.
Use a compatible bottom bracket tool to tighten the cups to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
Install the crankset following its manufacturer's instructions, including the appropriate spacers and preload adjustments.
Check that the crankset rotates smoothly without excessive axial movement or binding.

Changing Cranksets

Remove the existing crankset.
Remove the currently installed spindle adapters.
Fit the appropriate adapters and spacers for the replacement crankset.
Install the replacement crankset and adjust the bearing preload according to its manufacturer's instructions.
Check crank rotation and lateral movement before riding.

Maintenance

Inspect the bottom bracket periodically for bearing roughness, contamination and abnormal noise.
After prolonged wet-weather riding, check for signs of water ingress.
Avoid directing high-pressure water jets towards the bearing seals.
Have damaged or rough-running bearings inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic.
