Bont Cycling Riot Road+ Boa Wide Shoes

The Bont Cycling Riot Road+ BOA Wide Shoes are designed for road cyclists who need secure foot support and efficient pedalling without the restrictive feel of many conventional cycling shoes. Their anatomical construction follows the natural shape of the foot, making them particularly relevant for riders who experience pressure around the forefoot during longer rides. Unlike traditional flat-soled cycling shoes, the Riot+ uses a bathtub-style chassis that supports the foot from underneath and around its sides. It offers several construction features associated with Bont's higher-end shoes while remaining a more accessible option for regular training and recreational road riding.

Pedalling Stability. The supportive sole construction helps maintain a stable connection between the foot and pedal during sustained efforts. By restricting unnecessary movement within the shoe, it allows the rider to maintain a consistent pedalling position. This can be particularly useful during climbing, sprinting and longer rides where foot discomfort may become distracting. Ventilation openings help manage airflow, although comfort in hot conditions will also depend on sock choice and individual foot temperature.

Finding the Right Fit. Bont recommends selecting shoes using actual foot measurements rather than relying on the size worn in another brand. The anatomical shape provides additional forefoot accommodation, but riders must still choose the correct length and fit profile. The shoe can be heat-moulded to refine its fit, although this does not compensate for selecting an incorrectly sized shoe. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility with the intended road pedal system. Professional fitting may be beneficial for riders who regularly experience numbness or pressure points.
