The Fulcrum Wind 40C is a carbon rim-brake wheelset for road and triathlon riders who want one wheelset to cover fast training, Gran Fondos and general performance riding. Fulcrum positions it as an all-round option rather than a specialist climbing or deep-section aero wheel. The carbon construction is intended to balance aerodynamic efficiency on flatter roads with manageable handling on technical descents and a responsive feel when the road rises.
Built for Mixed Terrain. Fulcrum combines an aerodynamic rim profile with an oversized rear hub flange and its Two-to-One spoke arrangement to improve power transfer under acceleration. The AC3 braking treatment is particularly relevant for carbon rim-brake users, using laser processing on the braking track to improve pad contact and clear moisture more effectively. That makes the Wind 40C a more practical everyday performance option than an untreated carbon braking surface, especially when conditions are variable.
Check your Setup. Riders moving from aluminium rims should confirm that their brake pads are suitable for carbon braking surfaces before installation. Returns can be started within 7 days of delivery on unused items in their original condition with all tags and packaging. Apparel, helmets, gloves and similar items are returnable; wetsuits and products discounted by more than 5% are not. Compatibility questions are not grounds for a return unless our listing was wrong, so ask us before you order if you are unsure. Return shipping is arranged by you; on an accepted return you can choose an exchange, store credit or a refund after shipping and transaction charges.
