Electric Pumps

(15 products)

Mini electric bike pumps that inflate a road tyre to riding pressure in a minute or two without you doing any work. Pocket-sized and rechargeable, they suit road, gravel, MTB and hybrid riders, with presta and schrader support. Use the guide below to match pressure, volume and battery to your bike.

Which pump for which bike

The choice comes down to pressure versus volume. Road riders need high pressure in a small tyre, so look for a pump rated to 100 psi or more. Gravel, MTB and hybrid riders need volume at lower pressure, where a high-flow pump fills a wide tyre faster and often costs less.

For a light pump that disappears into a jersey pocket, choose the smallest unit that reaches your pressure. Larger units add battery capacity and speed, which helps if you inflate several tyres or ride with a group.

Valves and adapters

Electric pumps handle presta and schrader, directly or with an adapter, so check what is supplied on the product page. If you run deep-section rims, add an extension tube. It lets the pump sit clear of the rim instead of fighting a short valve stem, and it is the single most useful accessory in this category.

Electric, CO2 or hand pump

An electric pump is rechargeable and repeatable. CO2 gives you one shot per cartridge, and a mini hand pump at 100 psi is genuine work by the roadside. The trade-offs are weight and remembering to charge it. Most riders we sell to carry an electric pump plus a spare tube, and keep one CO2 cartridge as a backup for the day they forget.

Battery and real-world use

Runtime depends on tyre volume and target pressure. Expect to top up several road tyres from partly inflated, or fully inflate one or two from flat, before recharging. Big MTB tyres and high pressures drain it faster. Charge it the night before a long ride the same way you charge your lights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an electric mini pump inflate a road tyre to 100 psi?

Yes, provided you choose a model rated for it. Road-focused electric pumps reach 100 psi and above, which covers road tyres. Smaller, high-flow units are better suited to gravel, MTB and hybrid pressures, where you need volume rather than very high pressure. Check the maximum pressure on the product page against the pressure printed on your tyre sidewall.

Which electric pump should I buy?

Start with your tyres. For road riding at high pressure, choose a pump rated to 100 psi or more. For gravel, MTB and hybrid tyres, prioritise airflow at lower pressure. If you want a pump that lives in a jersey pocket, pick the lightest unit that reaches your pressure, and step up in battery size if you often ride in groups.

Do electric pumps work with presta and schrader valves?

Yes, electric pumps work with presta and schrader valves, either directly or with a supplied adapter, so check what comes in the box on the product page. An extension tube is worth adding for deep-section rims, where the pump body will not sit square against a short valve stem and may struggle to seal properly.

Is an electric pump better than CO2 or a hand pump?

An electric pump is rechargeable and repeatable, where CO2 gives you one shot per cartridge and nothing after that. It is also far less effort than a mini hand pump at road pressures. The trade-off is weight and remembering to charge it, so most riders carry a spare tube and one CO2 as backup.

How many tyres can an electric pump inflate per charge?

It depends on tyre volume and target pressure. As a rough guide, a mini electric pump will top up several road tyres from partly inflated, or fully inflate one or two from flat, before needing a charge. Higher pressures and larger MTB tyres drain the battery faster.
