Features

Features of WTB Velociraptor Rear 26X2.1 Comp Wired Tyre

  • Front-Specific Version: Front tires need to prioritize cornering traction above all else, which is why the VelociRaptor Front features long, pointed knobs that slice into the trail and counteract cornering forces with ease.
  • Rear-Specific Version: You're not worried about rolling speed when you're barreling down a loose, rocky chute in need of traction. VelociRaptor Rear features incredibly wide knobs with substantial spacing between them. This not only maximizes the braking surfaces of the tire, but also provides them the room they need to hook up in a variety of conditions.
  • 26" Ain't Dead: In a world where everything seems to be getting bigger, wider, burlier…the VelociRaptor has proven itself steadfast as the best 26" mountain tire on the market. Not ready to retire your trusted 26" steed? Throw on a fresh set of VelociRaptors and beat your friends down the trail as they brag about their fancy bikes while choking on your dust.
  • Tube-Type Light Casing: Combines the lightweight efficiency of a single-ply casing with the dependability of a wire bead. Wire bead tires are designed to be used with a tube and therefore are not tubeless compatible.

Technology

Technology of WTB Velociraptor Rear 26X2.1 Comp Wired Tyre

Front And Rear Specific Designs:

Steering-specific front features long, narrow knobs that are designed maximize cornering traction. Each of the primary knobs are at a slight angle to match the direction in which cornering forces are exerted on the tire.

Braking-specific rear with wide knobs that dig in while braking in loose terrain. Each of the wide knobs acts like a paddle that also digs deep into the trail while pedaling.

DNA Compound:

Our proprietary DNA Compound offers the ideal mix of rolling efficiency and traction on a wide range of riding conditons. Whether it's bright and sunny or pouring rain, this is the rubber that will provide traction and confidence to get you there fast. DNA Compound is renowned for being versatile and long-lasting.

Wire Bead Dependability:

Tires with wire beads utilize a thin, woven wire throughout the length of the bead to provide strength and proper tire retention. Our wire bead Comp tires feature durable rubber throughout the entire casing and sidewall to deliver additional puncture protection while also ensuring the tires holds up to cornering on asphalt and even the occasional curb rub. Wire bead tires require the use of an inner tube and cannot be set up tubeless.
