cyclus-tools-dot-5-1-brake-fluid
Cyclus Tools DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid

Cyclus Tools DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid is a synthetic hydraulic brake fluid developed for bicycle disc brake systems that require DOT-compatible fluid. It is intended for cyclists and mechanics performing routine brake bleeding, fluid replacement or hydraulic brake maintenance. Unlike mineral oil, which is used in certain hydraulic braking systems, DOT brake fluid must only be used where the brake manufacturer explicitly specifies compatibility. It is a practical maintenance product for restoring the condition of the fluid within an existing compatible braking system.

Consistent Braking Performance. Repeated braking generates heat within the braking system, particularly during long descents and demanding riding conditions. Cyclus Tools formulates this fluid to resist vapour bubble formation at elevated temperatures, helping maintain consistent hydraulic pressure and braking response. Its formulation is also designed to prevent foaming and support reliable brake operation across different riding temperatures.

Correct Fluid Selection. Before servicing the brakes, check the brake manufacturer's instructions to confirm the required fluid. This product must not be used in mineral-oil braking systems or mixed with silicone-based DOT 5 fluid. Brake bleeding should be performed using clean equipment suitable for the specified fluid type. Avoid contaminating brake pads or rotors, and clean any spills promptly according to the manufacturer's safety instructions. Always use fluid from a properly sealed container and follow the recommended maintenance procedure.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0558/5869/2257/files/cyclus-tools-dot-51-brake-fluid-the-bike-affair-5898001.png?v=1792874586
